Birthday: June 2

CrossFit Birthday: August 2016

How did you hear about CrossFit? My now hubby Alex, actually introduced me. He was obsessed with watching this thing called the “Crossfit Games” and going to our apartment gym to do these “ladies” workouts. He drew me in saying it was something we could do together. So I gave it a try and become more obsessed than Alex after completing two days.

How has CrossFit changed your life? Crossfit has changed my perception on body image. I no longer workout to look good. I workout to maintain a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family and I workout to challenge what my body can do – how fast can I go, how long can I hold on, how much more weight can I lift? It has also changed my eating habits. I’ve learned that certain foods fuel my body better than others and it has also surrounded me with a great group of friends!

Favorite & least favorite movement My favorite movement would have to be a bar muscle up. It took me the longest to learn. My least favorite would have to be rowing for calories. Calories always sound daunting.

Family info After Alex proposed at the end of the Open last year, I was finally able to marry him in October this past year. So we have been officially married for three months! We have a super energetic black lab named Bobbi who gets to run the golf course every day and keeps us on our toes – especially when it comes to any food sitting out. Our big news is that our family will be growing a little more in August as well!

Favorite saying “You miss 100% of the shots you never take,” Michael Jordan and “Be better than yesterday”

Favorite songs to work out to AC/DC

Favorite TV show or movie Parks and Rec, Battleship, White Chicks, Stranger Things

What movement or skill were you most excited about when you were able to do it? I was very excited to finally get a bar muscle up. I had been working on it for a long time and when it finally clicked on how the movement was supposed to feel, it was so rewarding to find myself on top of the bar instead of smacking into it. Next on the list is handstand walking. 🙂
