The hero WOD “Justice” will be done to honor our local fallen heros. The workout will be announced the week before the event. It will be typical of a CrossFit hero WOD, and accommodations for scaling can be made as needed, so all levels are encouraged to participate for this great cause.

Staff Sergeant James Justice, 32, of Grimes, Iowa, was killed April 23, 2011. James volunteered for duty in Afghanistan in early 2011 to be with his unit because he loved his country and felt that is where he should be. After completing a routine security patrol at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan, word was received of a downed OH-58 Kiowa helicopter in the neighboring Kapisa province north east of Kabul. James and some of his fellow soldiers from the Iowa Army National Guard’s Alpha Troop 1st Squadron 113th Cavalry boarded a UH 60 Black Hawk helicopter to rescue the two man crew of the downed helicopter. After their craft landed the group came under small arms fire. James was killed at the site. He is survived by his wife Amanda and three-year-old daughter Caydence, and parents Larry and Lillian Justice.

Anyone not interested in participating in the workout, we are also asking for volunteers to help setup and keep this event running smoothly. Please email info@crossfit515.com with you name and specify that you are interested in volunteering. We greatly appreciate it.

..are more than welcome. Even if you are not interested in participating or volunteering, please feel free to come cheer on your friends, family, and fellow crossfitters.
