    Hey Everyone – I know there’s the 31 Hero’s WOD (great cause!) going on in the Crossfit Community this weekend. By no means do we want to take away from that. This just happened to be the first weekend that we could do GRACE since a committment made 2 months ago when it was programmed.

    Gracie Sweet is the 3 year old daughter of one of my collegiate lacrosse teammates. Gracie was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2010. Earlier this year the tumor had grown substanially and she has spent much of 2012 undergoing chemotherapy. I’ve seen firsthand the impact chemo has on a young’s person life and it is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, nevermind a sweet 3 year old little girl. We’ve been fortunate enough to have such caring folks help us in my family’s fight against blood cancers that I view this as an opportunity to Pay it Forward to help a friend’s child. This Saturday I’d like to welcome everyone to do “Grace” (30 C&J for time 135/95) in honor of Gracie Sweet. For every person who gets a PR, I will personally make a donation to Gracie Sweet’s Cause!

    1.5 mile fitness test this a.m. in 9:54, 27 second PR from last year. And I couldn’t ask to have a better gym and CrossFit family to train with everyday! Big thank you to everyone at the 515!

    3 mile run prior to WOD! OHHHHHH you darn Filthy 50!

    Today’s WOD: 6:17, did ring rows though…will build up to rope climbs! I’m learning where my weaknesses are and what I need to work on.

    Today’s WOD as Rx’d: 7:16. Would have been slower if Todd hadn’t given me the push in round 3. Thanks. But where were you in round 2? I know you were done already…:-)

    Then worked on those knees-to-elbows with Bobby. I was going after them ALL WRONG yesterday, once I got my hips doing what they were supposed to (it’s ALWAYS the hips, isn’t it?) … BAM. Knees-to-elbows!

    Today’s WOD as Rx’d = 4:01. Thanks to Jaime for yelling at me to finish! Then did death by rope climbs = 5 rounds + 1 climb. I was happy with it but somehow the way I climb the rope tore the sole of my BRAND FREAKING NEW SHOE! I’ll just have to take it out on someone at work… 🙂
