Athlete of the Month: Adam Mitchell
CrossFit Birthday: Sometime in 2012, I can’t quite remember the exact date.
How did you hear about CrossFit? A couple of my buddies from high school in Kansas City were opening up a gym and it was something that I had been reading about and wanted to try so I became one of their first members.
How has CrossFit changed your life? It changed my life because I’ve never been consistently excited to go to the gym on a daily basis or disappointed when I see Bobby post a great workout and I can’t make it in. I always liked working out but not until crossfit did I find something I enjoyed this much.
Favorite & least favorite movement Squats, cleans, body weight movements. I am not a fan of overhead squats or full snatches, I really need to work on those.
Favorite saying “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them” Michael Jordan.
Favorite songs to work out to Pretty much anything with a good beat, although maybe a little more rap can be added to the mix?
Favorite TV show or movie A lot of Disney Junior and Nickelodeon these days but Game of Thrones is my favorite show of all time.
What movement or skill were you most excited about when you were able to do it? Muscle ups. I haven’t worked on them in awhile but not too long ago I could string multiple ones together, It’s a goal of mine to get that skill back I just need to to put in the time.
